Panoramic Copenhagen Tour with Airport Transfer

  • Private tour
  • Duration: 3 h
  • Multiple languages

Overview

If your cruise ends in Copenhagen, this tour fills the hours between the ship and the plane. Three hours are enough for the harbour, the royal quarter and the old centre, with your luggage in the car and the airport as the final stop.

The tour covers:

  • The Little Mermaid and the Langelinie waterfront
  • Amalienborg, the royal residence, and the Marble Church
  • The King’s Garden and Rosenborg Castle from outside
  • The City Hall Square, Tivoli and Christiansborg
  • Nyhavn, then a transfer straight to the airport

Please note that the tour order and the time spent at each venue may vary.

What you will see

  • Three hours in the city on your way to the airport
  • The Little Mermaid, the small bronze that became the city's emblem
  • Amalienborg, four rococo palaces and the royal guard at noon
  • The King's Garden, the oldest royal park in Denmark
  • A short walk through the old centre and along Nyhavn

Itinerary

  1. Meeting by the ship

Meeting by the ship. The start time of the tour is given approximately and will be adjusted depending on your ship arrival time. The exact meeting time will be specified on your confirmation letter.

  2. The Little Mermaid

A photo stop at the Little Mermaid on the Langelinie promenade. Edvard Eriksen's bronze, unveiled in August 1913, was paid for by the brewer Carl Jacobsen after he saw a ballet of the Hans Christian Andersen tale of 1837. She is only 1.25 metres tall, which surprises most visitors, and she has been the emblem of the city for a century.

  3. Amalienborg Palace

A stop at Amalienborg, four matching rococo palaces set around an octagonal square with an equestrian statue of Frederick V at its centre. Nicolai Eigtved laid them out in the 1750s for four noble families, and the royal family moved in after Christiansborg burned in 1794. The guard is changed at noon, when the Royal Life Guards march over from Rosenborg. From the square you look one way to the Opera House of 2005 across the water and the other to the Marble Church, begun in 1749 and finished only in 1894, whose dome spans thirty-one metres.

  4. The King's Garden

A stop at the King's Garden, laid out by Christian IV in the early 1600s as the grounds of Rosenborg Castle and the oldest royal park in the country. The castle at its centre still holds the crown jewels.

  5. City Hall Square and Tivoli

A drive past the City Hall of 1905 and the gates of Tivoli Gardens, open since 1843 and the second oldest amusement park in the world

  6. Old town walk and Nyhavn

A short walk through the old centre to Christiansborg Palace, which houses the Danish parliament, and along the Nyhavn canal, dug in the 1670s and now lined with painted gabled houses and cafes serving open sandwiches

  7. Transfer to the airport

The tour ends with a drive to Copenhagen Airport
